PhoenixOS Karmic Issues Empty PhoenixOS Karmic Issues

Tue Oct 05, 2010 12:15 pm
Ok, so I just got up the energy to install it. First off everything is looking and running great.

Issues:

1. No installer: Had to right click pick run command and type ubiquity to install.

2. Personal user not created: Am running as Jennifer. In Home folder all the is listed is gingermark and jennifer.

3. User pass not set up: Pass is still intel.

Those are the issues at the moment. Will create my user manually and report back.

Edit:
I noticed that jennifer is confused again. Desktop is bob. Also when creating new user, I noticed something. Look at screen below and tell me what you see:

PhoenixOS Karmic Issues 5yexzt

An acct for shit, with login name mini......

Edit 2:
Ok, after restart, new acct sal loses all PhoenixOS settings and appz. I am presented with the Trinity set up on first login. In order to have theme, settings and all appz, I have to be running as bob/jennifer. Also, when logging in as sal, user pass must be entered using keys in main part of keyboard. Cannot use the keypad for the numbers. Yes, I made sure the keypad was active. The digits even were typed in, just not recognized.

Your welcome Ray. I had the energy today to try to play with it some. Oh, after relogging back into jennifer/bob, the trash icon is no where to be found. Actually, trash, computer and docs are all gone.....and I am now recieving an error that says: The file or folder /home/jennifer/Desktop does not exist.

Edit:
After restart, I am presented now with this:

Another issue. When installing or uninstalling software, in my case I was uninstalling icedtea & openjdk, the task bar disappears and reappears during the process.

Just for future reference Ray, the system has java6 and openjdk installed. Maybe save some space on the ISO and not add any java. Users can easily install which java they prefer.

This isn't 1990 anymore. Both versions of java are in the repos and manual install of Sun java is easy compared to back in the day. I have 0 issues installing it either way.
