Your system RAM is very very low to run almost any modern Linux release; you should have at least 512mb, preferably more.
A 2GB hard drive is also very small; I'd recommend going with 4gb as an absolute minimum.
I have it running on a 900mhz PIII with 512mb ram 20GB HD, and it would run a lot faster if I could double the ram, but the machine is already maxed out.
The *.iso files are all going to be over 1 GB, so a 60mb file size probably indicates a bad download - the NETBOOK version is / was around 1.3GB (+/-, bad memory, don't recall the exact size).
(Mini-Laptop Hawk: phoenixos010610.iso)
The proper download choice is going to depend on which machine you want to load & run it on; the NETBOOK version was designed for the tiny notebooks, like the Dell Mini 9 (got 2 it runs great on) and the Asus EEE, which it also runs great on.
If you have a "sub-notebook" or even a notebook or laptop, try that one.
The desktop version is having the last few bugs cleaned up & is expected to be done (hopefully) in less than a day (today being 10 March in the US)
(Desktop: FlameHawk: phoenixos030410.iso)
So... bottom line; if you have a desktop, wait 'till you read in the forums here that it's all set to go. It will probably be very VERY soon, but with such low hardware capacity, you might be better off trying the Netbook version, it'll be more forgiving of such a tiny hard drive.
If you have a laptop, it's set to go.
Try using a download manager, they help quite a bit, especially on lousy (dirty) phone lines.

At the moment PhoenixOS is available in Karmic and Hardy and soon Lucid. Jaunty is not done anymore, but if you really wanted it, just send a prepaid dvd mailer and blank dvd and I could make one for you. Karmic and hardy work real good and are available here:

I downloaded one dated 061910 and burned it to DVD but it won't boot it says boot error.
The 061910 is 1.27 Gb downloaded is that correct?
Maybe I ought to check the md5
I tried Flamehawk but it quit at 960 mb.
I see a lot of familiar faces here.

OK The problem was the download was cutting off before it was done. I finally got the entire ISO. It booted but then wanted a password, I didn't expect that on a live DVD.
