Intoduce yourself here and get to know one another. Empty Intoduce yourself here and get to know one another.

I guess I will start off. My name is Sal, aka FrogDemon aka LinuXFroG, aka LF. I have been roaming around since Lindows 1.0, but have been running linux since around 1999. I live in Southern California, am married to a wonderful woman, who bore me 2 crazy daughters. Our oldest daughter finally gave us a grandson 22 months ago. Our youngest just turned 8 last month.

Anyways, am loving this project. Can't wait to see what else Ray throws at us.

I guess I will go next. I too have been around since the Lindows Days, and absolutely loved Linspire. When Xandros took over, after months of meetings finally got the greenlight to do Linspire 7.
Linspire 7 was done, at last minute got the axe from Xandros and was told could not release it. PhoenixOS was born, since the community had waited long enough, and its name was symbolic Linspire in a way raising from ashes. The rest you know here in these forums.

I have been married for 12 years to an amazing woman and have 2 beautiful daughters.
In the past year have had quite a few unbelievable bad events occured, this community here/which was also freespire community helped me pull out thru these events. Thanks to all who helped contributed with your donations during that time: it helped me get back on my feet.

As long as the community supports me PhoenixOS will keep going strong, and hope the next few releases will spark more interest!

Good to meet ya Ray. I got ya beat on the marriage years. Our 25th just passed on January 22nd. Still feels like it did when we first got married, well for the most part. All marriages go through rough times. I also know about tough times. We are currently there. But things get better usually.

I got you both beat I've been married 43 years and to the same woman. Anyone who could put up with me that long must be amazing.
I am 71 and have 6 stents in my heart so talk fast ha ha.
I started life fixing radios then TV's then VCR's then camcorders. I was a technical instructor for Sony for years retired in 1992. I am also a radio amateur W8ARK.
I started working on computer monitors in my garage so I had to have a computer to drive them. So I started with DOS 5. Had video a card with a whopping 1 mb of RAM. affraid
And so it goes I caught the bug. The last company I worked for had a unix system and I was off.
I didn't catch the Linux bug until about 2005. I believe my first system was Xandros. I have been a Klikiteer for a couple of years.

I'm off to sort some Itronix XC6250s, I'll send ya two of the better ones & you can see if they're worth messing with.
If nothing else, they're a good kid-proof playtoy.
Make good wheel chocks too.

I just tripped over some 9" Eee PCs for $150 (free shipping).

Pretty lean specs though:
ASUS Eee PC 900 Celeron M 900MHz 512MB 4GB SSD 8.9"

Remember When Your computer would boot into DOS first then you would have to type Win before it would go into Windows. Then you figured how to put Win in the autoexec.Bat file.
