Hi everyone

Post  CaptainTux on Wed Aug 18, 2010 10:28 pm

Well, it has been awhile since I have been on a Linux forum. I still use Linux, Ubuntu 10.4. Harvey done tracked me down and found me and well...here I am.

I am a pastor these days of a small church we started in 2008 and in 2009 we started a youth outreach that is kinda like a pizza party meets group therapy meets fight club. I also do work in Haiti. Health is much better these days. Ummm...adn if anyone can help me get my Kodak printer to play nice with Linux....I can go native again. Wink

WELCOME to PhoenixOS, mi amigo...

And as for your printer... as cheap as printers are these days, look into a Canon MP610 all in one... There are drivers for that one. I use that printer which is hooked up to my wife's Win 7 Pro box... Works like a dream...

Welcome back! Glad to see a blast from the past, hope all is better for you. What kind of Kodak Printer? My OS should recognize most of the Kodak printers. I am working on another update to go up very shortly; will keep you posted.

Captain Tux! There is a name I haven't heard for a very long time. Glad to hear you're doing well. Haiti? Interesting!
At home I have changed from inkjet to laser. I got a used HP 1200 at the local thrift shop for $15 and it had a reasonable amount of toner in it yet. Works just fine in a mixed network (Linux/Windows).
Kodak in general may be new enough in the Linux world the drives haven't caught up yet.... JohnP
