Ok I decided to get the ball rolling on this. It could help Ray in making his OS better. All we need are a few hardware specs in this thread. No need to post your current OS.

I have Compaq cq61-420us it has an AMD M320 2.1ghz dual core, 3gbRAM, and a 250gb drive.

Please put video/wifi etc as much specs as you can; there has to be something different between your laptop and mine; and bios version.

Does running lshw in terminal help you at all???

As I remember (but not to anything I would swear to ) Linspire had some kind of hardware script that people could run and upload the script's results directly to the OS team. A pretty handy way to get a database established for hardware, in my opinion. What do you think??? Could that be possible for you to program into your next release??? John (jpisini) is pretty handy writing scripts, perhaps you two could get together on this???
