Downloaded PhoenixOS050610 at about 800 Kb/s and burned apparently okay.
But on all start up modes , I get an error
invalid kernel image.
I hae Flamehawk running on another partition with no trouble.

I put it on USB flashdrive and worked fine.
For some reason for me anyways, when I put it on a disk, it didn't work right.

Ray. Obviously I had a corrupted ISO download.
I downloaded again , and this installer worked.
Initial logo is extremely small.
Stamdard Ubuntu Lucid install process went stright through. Audomatic detecting of time zone. Live desktop comes up quickly.
There are two icons to start install (why?).
Install fairly quick.
On System settings for desktop , the sudo administrator password dowss not work for Monitor&Display , and for User Management.
Software managers -- synaptic and kpackage -- are rather antique. The new system uksedd by Ubuntu Lucid , based on Linspire CNR , is a great improvement. Almost identical to the software manager that Mint has brought out.
Looking forard to doingsome more testing on your new release.

I found a work-around for setting up a second User.
I used APT and installed ' kusr ' . This loads from regular menu launcher and accepts the sudo user password.
Still unable to set Monitor resolutiions.
I ha got a headache from setting up Kubuntu KDE 4.4 .
Your version of KDE is more stable.

The way I set the rez was usin the icon in the tray. However, upon reboot, it reverts back to default setting.
I think the way around it is to create the new user, install the proprietary drivers for your card and then create xorg.conf manually. Might work.

That works well, Im debating whether to post an updated iso with these changes and some bug fixes I have added. I could have it uploaded in a day or 2.

I have been real busy as of late and haven't had the chance to download and install your current release...
I will wait till your next release in a couple of days to test on my new box... I have a 500 GB hard drive rack with PhoenixOS's name written all over it...

This 060610 version is using up 4.50 GB on a 7 GB partition. No problem there.
I got a 800 Kb/s download speed on the ISO.
I normally clear and reinstall each new version. Works okay that way with me.
