I have always been able to use that using Firefox. Linux, Windows or BSD. Makes no difference, has never failed me yet.

So it works for you in Linux using the latest Firefox Mozilla build (curious what's the distro & build)?LinuXFroG wrote:I have always been able to use that using Firefox. Linux, Windows or BSD. Makes no difference, has never failed me yet.

You must be reading my mind when I'm not looking.
In Win xp if you wanted to copy a picture from the browser to wallpaper you had to do it manually. You clicked on the picture and selected copy. Then you had to open "Paint" in windows and click on paste.
Then the picture would appear in the paint program then click on install to desktop wallpaper. It was a windows thing not a browser thing.
Question?... When I click "save to wallpaper" where does it go?
I have to go to the Doctor be back later.
Thanks, I just try to keep the "Linspire Mantra" heheheh I am going to fire up firefox 4 and see if it works with that one.

I have used it on Ubuntu and Fedora. The build has never mattered for me. It has always worked.

Both Gnome-based distros (issue appears to be between Firefox & KDE interface)...LinuXFroG wrote:S3Indiana wrote:So it works for you in Linux using the latest Firefox Mozilla build (curious what's the distro & build)?LinuXFroG wrote:I have always been able to use that using Firefox. Yes, they are Gnome, but it has also worked in Kubuntu. I consider Kubuntu, Ubuntu.

in which version? i think for the last few versions kubuntu has "borrowed" the kde-firefox integration from opensuse and thats why it probably works.

I don't know if it works in 10.04, as I am not a fan of the newest *buntus. But it worked in all upto Karmic. No, that isn't right. I don't think it worked in Hardy. But then alot didn't work right in Hardy.

Yep...S3Indiana nailed it. It would not work in early Klikit KDE.

i'm not sure, either way it's no big deal just save the picture to your home folder then set it as the background.

Seems like a perfectly easy and simple solution to me...

I tend to use my own photos and I always put them in my home directory in Pictures. If it is a permanent background I move the picture to /usr/share/wallpapers just to be tidy.

The reason it was handy for me was I have a weather map as background and change it every 30 minutes.

I copy and set to desktop background every 30 minutes or so especially when a storm is near. I have it set for my region. You can set it for other regions by changing the letter and or number. 2xradarb 2xradarc and 2xradara5 2xradara3.
a,b,c,d is up and down on the map and 1,2,3,4,5 is back and forth.

This one can show you any map in the world Just set the top scroll window to satellite-world

Thanx will have to give that a go. If I can't get it set up, I may have ya TeamViewer to me. If ya wouldn't mind. Or maybe you can just set that map to 92399?
