I like e17 but I do find it hard on my eyes. I don't know why I have tried different themes and fonts/sizes it just always seems to leave my eyes feeling strained. Of the others I prefer Openbox although I can use any of them. They are not true Windows Environments like the others they are Window Managers there is a difference. I can and have used TWM just so I could run 4+ terminals at a time with no overhead on a 386 with 16mb of RAM. I don't recommend it if you don't have a specific reason to do so. At work I spend most of my time on a Windows 7 box with 5+ putty sessions open onto my Linux and Solaris boxes and two browsers open one to email the other to our internal network scanner.

Wow, another person who has issues with e17. I can't run it for long periods. No clue why either.
